BP/Wooleys Jetty bait collecting help
Hey all.
Planning my next Gummy trip Thursday outgoing tide providing the wind stays how it’s looking now. Need some fresh bait or else I can’t do the session, always been meaning to go to BP Jetty for yakkas etc but never got around to it..
What are the rules and regulations with how close I can go to the Jetty and areas etc..?
What are the best techniques to catch the yakkas? I remember watching a video of Wingas where they simply burleyed back to the structure, the yakkas swam up the trail, and they were bouncing sabiki rigs without any bait on them, catching them. Any tips?
Much appreciated Cheers,
Sam

Re: BP/Wooleys Jetty bait collecting help
there are marker poles there that say no boating.
The technique is anchor up stream and let the burley drift back, Sabi jigs work well. A seal may hang aournd and steal your hooked up bait.

It's 100m. As Wooly said there's yellow marker poles on both sides of the jetty

Cheers guys. Might be a pretty obvious question but haven’t done it before don’t want to do it wrong kinda thing. I’ll be giving it a go in the morning. Any tides better for the yakkas? Or it doesn’t matter as long as the burley flowing
