Re: First catch of 2018
A month or 2 ago I've caught a similar species at Portarlington, land based, on whiting rig. It was around 50-60cm. First I thought it was some sort of sea snake but with little investigation on the net with much clear picture and video I've found out it was "Shorthead Worm Eel"! Apparently its common in PPB, could it be the same or similar kind of eel?

Re: First catch of 2018
Good to know I'm not the only one....after a month of trying to get out, I finally managed to hit the water on Sunday with the family. Magnificent conditions, unfortunately we had a bruised knee and seasickness within minutes of launching. A lot of time and effort for 30 minutes on the water. This weekend look pretty average as well :oops:rb85 wrote:Feel like mine can be an ornament at timesbowl wrote:Dust collectorcantcatchem wrote:What happened to your boat?bowl wrote:Yeah it was....better winter spot ...KeenAds wrote:Yeap, cut the line Allright wouldn't risk de hooking it...

Re: First catch of 2018
I'm off to a shocker this year, turbo issues mean I wont be towing anything too far until I can get it fixed. Any tips where the Kingfish will be hiding in WPB?rb85 wrote:I fish solo a bit there will be fish caught in westernport throughout the next few months just got to put in the hours.Mattblack wrote:Solo fishing is looking a lot more appealing....when are the snapper going to fire up again? Re: First catch of 2018
I’ll start sniffing around early next week for those I hope.
But they can pop up anywhere.
