Re: Grantville,Tenby point
boat or lb?
oh I just noticed surf fishing.. can't really help you with exact LB locations, but as I said in another post, just cast into a metre or so of water a couple hours either side of high tide with fresh prawn, fresh squid and pilchards and you should be in with a good chance for gummies.

You will have more water over the high and with better access at Tenby. Chance of gummies, often with toadies being a pest

Heading to Grantville this Frid night with my son looking for Gummies, keep you posted. Backup location is Kilcunda so hopefully it’s productive!

Will do, I’v had hookups at Kilcunda a few weeks ago but all 3 times lost my line. The last one broke my rod. I’m far more prepared this time though. 80lb braid main/70lb leader/mustard circle hook+rated swivel and chicken chunks! Never caught Gummy before so it’ll be interesting if and when I do. Cheers.

80lb braid?!?!?
Ditch chicken chunks and catch some squid or other fish species and use those as bait

80lb braid was free so on it went. I’ll try chicken, squid, salmon, Pilchard or anything else petty much. Friday was quiet all night, lots of seaweed around which was a pain. Sat is a lost cause with high winds and heavy rain. Powlett river wasnt much better, exposed to westerly winds. There’s always next weekend... :water:

Trying again at Grantville this Friday night. So far not much luck in my search for Gummies.
Is high or low tide better for Gummy or doesn’t it matter much? Low tide will mean I go Kilcunda
