Was on a flight last week and watched Jaws, reminded me I had been trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to catch one from the shore in PPB. Saw the forecast for a solid offshore breeze at one of the spots I had hooked up on so gave it a go.
Conditions were great but the fish didn't turn up. Waited for 3 hours to get a bite. The thing took off and just kept going. Was on it for 40 minutes until it came unstuck, it was only a ray though, not fast enough, or jerky for a shark. So still haven't caught one. Caught a couple of sized flatties on the small rod so not a total disaster.
