Fishfinder/Chartplotter under $1.3k ??
I'm in the market for a new device for the boat. I have between $1k - $1.3k to spend but I am unsure what to get.
I need a CHIRP sonar
7" or larger (touchscreen not critical)
Navionics preferred
brand new preferred
Mainly use it as a regular fish finder and navigator/maps.
There are so many options out there, it feels overhelming.
Any suggestions? Also where to buy it from (except BCF and CH Marine)
PS: I currently have a Garmin 5DV which I bought a couple of months ago

have you got a preference of brand mate.
For that price you can just squeeze a Elite Ti9 into the budget if you look carefully enough.
i have this unit and its quite good.
Plenty other similar options from other brands, id go a 9inch screen over 7inch anyday if you can afford it.. i myself just upgraded from 7 inch to 9 inch ad the amount of screen space between the 2 is quite a lot..

I picked up an elite 9 ti combo, for $1299 a while ago. Definitely worth going the 9" over the 7" IMO

Yes, a 9" would fill my dash perfectly. However, I dont think I can afford the brand new 9" devices.
I've seen the discontinued Lowrance Elite-9 devices for sub $1k. They still seem to have CHIRP transducers and Navionics, which is what I need.

Dont confuse the older elite 9 for the newer elite Ti9
They are two very different units.
The unit myself and scralgor is talking about is the newer touchscreen model. With chirp. Downscan sidescan and gps maps

Garmin has the edge on sonar compared to lowrance. If you're happy with the current sounder, a echomap 95sv might be found for your budget. No navionics but the inbuilt maps are more than adequate.
