I've spotted one out the front of my place but I'm not telling because I want to catch the bugger first lol. He's big for a goldfish. Usually you get them as carp bycatch

Many years ago there was a good population of them in the Plenty river around Greensborough.
Water is the most essential element of life, because without water you can’t go fishing. :water:

Goldfish are more widespread than you may think. They can bob up almost anywhere.

They are more common in urban lakes, specially in and around newer housing estates. Most have got there after well meaning but misinformed people have got tired of keeping them and have released them thinking that they are doing an act of kindness.

If you fish for carp you'll eventually catch a goldfish.

Saw someone catch a really big one guessing around 40cm at Lilydale lake before. Im just happy ive never caught one before. Wouldn't know what to do with it, can't release it, and i would feel bad killing it...
