St Leonards Jan 17
Hi All
Just back from another magical holiday break at St leonards and as usual the fishing was pretty good. The weather was much better than the same time last year with some absolute cracker days with no or little wind. I ended up with over 60 KGW and some good sized Flatties, one was over 50 which was a nice surprise. Squid were around to but mainly smaller ones with hoods around 20-25cm. Best bait for the KG's was half a Pillie fillet but they took squid and Pippies to. Puffers were annoyingly plentiful but I only hooked a few Banjo's over the whole trip which was a bonus. Had two powerful, unstoppable screaming runs on my 2500 Freams which I put down to Eagle rays, luckily both breaking off at the leader and saving my braid. We'll be going back down there again for the last week of Jan, can't wait!
Awesome conditions
Outwide in 9m of water, away from the pack or "Bourke Street"
Berley cage mandatory
Typical days catch
Sunset
Evening session was great until the easterly strengthened making it tough back at the ramp.
