With some money left on my Xmas vouchers I decided to get a new rod to pair up with the Diawa Aird X 4000 I recently bought.BCF have a 25% stocktake sale on so I bought a Team Diawa one piece 4-8kg rod reduced from $119 to $80 as a bonus it matches the reel colour  .Hoping to christen the new combo on a 3 day trip to St.Leonards later this week.

Re: Show us your purchases!
An unfulfilled New Years resolution from 2016 has been remade for 2017 and already (partially) fulfilled - joining the trout and carp outfits is a Murray Cod set-up!
Shimano Curado baitcaster and Shimano Ballistix Pro 6-8kg 3pc. 20lb braid - sorry already forgotten the brand haha but it was $40.
Not priced in the upper echelon of what cod set ups can go for, but well over my normal spend range - my intent was to get something that should be capable of holding its own in most summer river cod situations (for years to come) below without totally blowing the budget (which was blown). Hopefully I can find some success in targeting cod and start putting the set up to work! Apologies for the crappy light contrast in the mobile photo.

Re: Show us your purchases!
Same reel I'm using dude. With a bit of regreasing they cast pretty well. Mine's gone a little geary but that goes away with a stickier grease. Bc reels get water every where just fyi, keep up with the maintenance

See how the new girl goes with Bream on the weekend.
