You guys are absolutely right. I generally head into Anaconda for just for terminal tackle when they have sales as they are the closest to me. But for reels i always head to CA Bentleigh or Dandenong.

Cobby, you're spot on for the Quickfire. I had my suspicion on the rebadged catana hence why i couldn't resist the $100 compared to the $179 catana whilst i was doing my X'mas shopping. Anyhow Lesson learnt.

Big Gav, yes you learn something new and my money will be going to local tackle stores from now on.

Having just moved to the area I've found Armadale Angling was good service & advice. Trev is a good bloke who knows his stuff and helped me out - he actually sold me on a rod that was a fair bit cheaper than I was looking to spend (and so far it's proving to be a great stick). I've been back there a couple of times.

You can see the difference between a proper tackle store and a BCF

I have been in hooked on a few times lately had a few chats with big mick he knows his stuff and gives good advice, but he is a tad dear I wanted to buy a shimano sustain he was $75 more than I got it from motackle delivered. But on saying that if you know your prices do a bit of research I don't mind paying a bit extra.

I always go to compleat angler box hill. They are convenient for me as theyre just down the rd from my tafe.

Always very helpful and keen to help out and for a chat. They provide a good retail experience. Good on the blokes down there!

Here in traralgon customer loyalty is a big thing. I've always gone to get wet and in turn I feel like a very valued customer. I could cheap out every now and then and go up the road to BCF but any excess I pay in the local stores is always paid back in advice, or out of the blue discounts.

To be honest I don't think your BCF store will be much cheaper...some prices I see at the local BCF are expensive. Usually I only purchase items there when they have a sale. Good to see you are happy with your local tackle store.
cheers
