Thankyou to previous wellwishers. Fished the Maribyrnong again yesterday, wasn't feeling real confident as i have generally seen very little action fishing right on the full moon.

Things were pretty quiet then in a half hour stint caught two fish and had two mullet stolen before i could get to the rod. The first one was about 65cm and had me thinking it could be a good fish with its runs but it turned out it was hooked in the gill plate, the second one was maybe 60cm and was hooked about 5 seconds after releasing the first one.

Both fish took pretty reasonable sized live mullet of about 20cm. Hopefully i'm getting closer to a better fish but still a pretty good afternoon all up. Cheers.

Greetings all, having not been fishing for well over a month i was pretty keen to have a crack where possible this weekend and ended up trying Friday and Sunday afternoon/evening. With the lack of rain the Yarra's water looked perfect and nice sized mullet were reasonably easy to catch so my optimism was pretty high (which normally means no action).
Friday overall not a lot happened apart from one live mullet getting taken by a decent fish which turned out to be a pinkie which was quite a surprise. Ended up giving the fish to some fishers nearby who obviously figured their diet was lacking in heavy metals.
Sunday was another perfect mild night and had the baits in by about 5pm. At about 6.30pm it went completely off for about ten minutes with livies and big chunk baits getting consistently slammed including both roads at once. After getting my composure back i contemplated the fact that a ravenous school of mulloway had likely just moved past me and i hadn't hooked one!
Luckily ten minutes later one road buckled over and the baitrunner zinged and i finally hooked one of the culprits. All though i only landed one fish definitely one of those memorable sessions you sit through a lot of donuts for. Cheers
