Hey Everybody

7 News report on freshwater fish mercury levels
Says for pregnant women to not eat these fish as mercury is really damaging to fetuses. :crazy:

I'm guessing a lot of you probably know already but just posting this for those who don't

With #2 on the way we've been there and done that before with what she can and can't eat. I know fish like sharks should be kept to 1 serve per fortnight but had no idea the freshwater fish from clean waters had these problems. My missus doesn't eat these fish and we limit to one meal a fortnight for any pelagic fish. All the more reason to eat the yummier scale fish from the salt like flatties and whiting. or squid.

Eating fish from the Yarra & Maribyrnong river isnt a very good idea also , they contain unhealthy levels of heavy metals & E'Coli also .

Makes you wonder what as a race, humans are putting into our waters. Probably certain farmers that spray in the middle of the night with illegal chemicals....

why should I tell my almost 70 yo mum not to eat fish? As if I will have another bro or sis. :doh1: :crazy:

I think it is being selective with the fish that you eat. Not all fish have high mercury levels, here are some examples.
