In that case take a squizz at the picture above and imagine the trees gone. The bank cutting is rather steep, so there'll be a small silt edge before a rather large drop. On bends generally the outer down stream edge will be the deepest closer to the bank, shallow side on the inner edge that can extend quite a distance depending on the river. All my fresh fishing is for Bass, so my reading could be complete opposite to what the river actually is like in central vic

it'd be great if someone had a picture of a river and was able to label/illustrate using paint or something where riffles, runs, pools etc are for reference.. just an idea
