Re: Bayule swamp
So is it very shallow? If it looks dry on google earth.. And doesn't look dry at all now one is led to believe it's not that deep.. What's the access to the water like?
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Re: Bayule swamp
Yer it looks a lot diffirent on google.
Id say it must be shallow and full of snags/reeds probably pretty painfull to fish to be honest lol.
It must be similar to the billabong next to the venneto club on manningham rd ( no fish just snakes)
Might go down and give the yarra around the corner a crack for a few carp this weekend

Re: Bayule swamp
I used to cycle around there and checked the pond out a few times for access but it looked pretty sketchy, snakes in summer and overgrown swamp in winter but I never saw it dry. Very popular with bird watchers. There are a few decent places to access the river along there with the easiest being only a short walk from the Tennis club car park. Slippery when wet though and no point following heavy rains in the Yarra catchment it floods pretty easily.

Re: Bayule swamp
I was wondering about that billabong next to the venneto club. I have read there were eels in there but i don't know if there are any there anymore. Does anyone know if there are yabbies in there or in Bayule Flats/Swampbigwatkins wrote:Yer it looks a lot diffirent on google.
