Yeah, shame. Small lake yet people are bagging it, taking them home. Those cods and yellowbellies wont last long there.
I honestly reckon there should be way more limits imposed on trout lakes. As far as I know you can take fish of any size at any time of the year from such places. People are bagging out on weeny fish which have had barely any chance to grow and within weeks the lake is dead as a doornail. I'm all for teaching little kids how to fish at these family fishing lakes but most of the time it's just guys who are there all day catching all the trout. If these fish were given time to grow they'd be great to catch.

Yeah, that's the idea of family fishing lakes. There should be officers checking around.

Might have to start going back there again, used to catch heaps with lures about 5 years ago.
If your trying to catch trout i'd get in there quick because the stocked ones get cleaned up in a few weeks. I didn't get so much as a tap on my lures so I think they're just not interested.
they were always very picky on the time, used to get there around 3pm and around 4:30pm til dusk they used to liven up, also Rapala CD-5 'Silver' used to work wonders with single hooks and depressed barbs, if i switched to a different pattern CD-5 they wouldnt touch it...

seen one person get a cod out of there, shredded up fins don't think they will last very long in there, nice trout though!
I saw a photo on compleat anglers fishing report, must be the same fish. What has caused this?

Did the fins have black or red/pink tips?

Oh yeah, I see

I keep fish and it looks like finrot, a common disease caused by bad water quality, it will keep going until the fins are gone and then progresses to body rot, which will eventually kill the fish
