It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: Deniliquin Picnic Point
Hey mate, I've fished there a couple of times at the cod classic and stayed there with the mrs and billy kids. It was feb ish last time I was there. I used shrimp from my shrimp bait net and worms. I caught a couple of nice cod late in the arvo and plenty of baby trout cod and carp. We fished off the bank at the back of our cabin. The other times in the classic we only got one cod and again small trout cod, carp around willows.
Re: Deniliquin Picnic Point
A successful few days away. Stayed at the Big 4 caravan park in Deniliquin, right on the river. Mainly fished at Stevens Weir and did well.
All caught on worms and released.
Cod-can't catch when you are allowed to and can't not catch them when the season is closed.
All released except for the Carp who are now fertilising the river bank.
Thanks for information everyone much appreciated. Look forward to a return trip.
