Salmon burley pellets??

Post by nhillboy » Mon May 19, 2014 5:24 pm

Hi all , received complete anglers specials catalogue today and saw this product. Has anyone used it and does it work. Martha has been a little tight lately at the rocks and I need a few new tricks to land a fish/salmon. :lolf:

Never tried it. I make burley out of chicken pellets, tuna oil, breadcrumbs and old bait /mashed fish frames. Can't see it being anymore effective than that to be honest, but if it does work then great!

Yeah, you blokes are right about the homemade burley. I normally throw out some cubed pieces of pilchard or take along a mix of pellets, pillies, tuna oil, old squid (frozen variety), old bluebait and sometimes even seafood catfood. if i get a chance i will buy a bag to try out next time at Martha.

I'd say the only way you're going to find out is by scientific analysis, which in my humble opinion, is a bit over the top. I'd say home made will beat off-the-shelf but having a bag as backup for those times you're too busy, left it in the fridge, wife fed it to the cat, etc can't do any harm.

I always carry an emergency kit in my box for those such events listed above.
