when i use to make my own sinkers in the usa i went to the local tire shops for lead. they gave me all the old tire balances for free. they worked fine for me. i had buckets full of them in my garage. as far as the larger sinkers you can use and to make moulds for them too just have to have something to make the hole in them where you clip them onto your swivel. and one side may be a little flat lol. but still works.

I have tried the lead from car tyre balance weights it does not pour as well as the lead used in flashing etc maybe the lead used in the states is slightly different make up

Wheel balance lead probably isn't as good but it is what I use.

No luck with the clay mould, on the big bomb sinkers, bubbles up and to much heat in mould. Although it did work well with the sinker size around 8oz bomb and star sinkers.
