Big mullet

Post by Messiah » Fri Jan 11, 2013 4:12 pm

I was fishing in the river a few days ago and there were massive mullet jumping every 10-15 mins in the same spot, and wouldn't take any baits, does anyone know how to catch them?

mullets jump if something bigger is chasing them. It could be a jewie. If I were you, I will try to get a live bait and chuck it under a float close to where the mullets are jumping.

Yer FC that is true but I went 3 days in a row the same spot and they jumped the same spot at the same tides, the mullet would have been 2kg ++++++

We used to fish for tailor in the warmies and everyday this one mullet would leap several times in a row. Never would take a bait or the Tailor lures, but once a guy came and got one on a different lure(looked like a freshwater lure) and yeah it was huge.
