Hi all,

I know fishing bridge pylons can result in some activity, but what side of the bridge do you fish from? I'm land based and there's a current going right to left, which side under the bridge should I be fishing?

Left.

Ambush predators will be patrolling the left side (calm side) of the pylons.

If you want to cast on the right side, watch your line get wrapped in the pylon. Then you will realize you should cast on the left.:-)

x2 Left every time. The protection of the pylons means the predators don't have to use any energy whilst waiting for prey to come through with the flow.

Agree with comments to fish on the down current side -but - don,t cast too far from the pylon.
Drop your line straight down behind the pylon where the fish are resting and waiting food to come past.
Used this tactic for years on northern NSW bridges, caught plenty of Bream while others were casting away from them.
Good luck.
