I've got flatties and pinkies trolling stumpjumpers in the yak

Trolling in phb is quite easy and succesful.

You dont need a electric .

Ive done it on both the electric and motor at abt 4kms.

Stump jumpers go good but I have more success on xraps

Naturally getting the lure close to the bottom is a key.

Down riggers are handy for this.....I just use tbe trout ones....work fine

I troll surface lures for salmon couta and pike down the south end of westernport with reasonable success. I always have 2 rods rigged with lures just in case. Always alot of bird activity down there.

Also troll around the rocky shores of phillip island and get plenty of pike.

Kids love seeing the massive hits and fish jumping too

Yeah I saw that awhile ago - always wanted to give it a go. He get's some decent ones on there.

Cheers BM - so you are doing this all over the bay, not just in the shallow areas?

Sweet, will keep this in the back of the mind if I ever motor that far down!

I troll a bit rapala taildancers X-raps and the like both with and without the downrigger depending on the depth. I like to troll the edge of drop offs like Prince George bank

Yes the shallow and deep water...

often when nothing is happening with bait

downriggers are probably the best option to go deep.
bm and nudeup what sort of fish are you guys getting trolling in PPB??
