they probably taste like chicken soaked in tuna oil

seagulls and ducks are easy compared to pelicans......
Recent fishing trip in Mildura saw me fight the buggers for each fish I caught.
Got on a run of carp, and as you bring them in the pelicans swim in and try take the catch before you even land it....and those birds are big and nasty when they miss out.
Flip side is once you get the carp off the hook and move down the bank away from your rods......they are fun to feed, good way to get rid of caught carp.

Fish-cador, the point I was making is that seagulls are actually protected under the Victorian Wildlife Act - as opposed to most species of common table fish!
