 Keep tension in line and leader while you tie and fg can be tied almost anywhere.

I use the Albright if time is of the essence

that's one thing i need, a decent slim knot that i can tie quickly, i tried doing slim beauty's for a while but I didn't tie them often enough and when it came time to tie a new leader under time pressure I wasn't confident in them so i just did an fg.

Yeah always tie an FG if time is no worry, if not a quick double uni works when bait fishing or if a big bust up or something is going on

Very good points in the videonthat everyone should do but 99% if people wont.

For light gear and slim guides tied on the boat Imporved Albright all the way.

have you had it come undone before?
ive lost a few lures due to that hence why im hesitant to use it nowdays.
cast, and lure is gone like being busted off, but always the braid comes back in pigtails and when ive recovered the lure, leader has been intact with marks where the braid used to bite into it.

works well and easy to tie when your using 50lb leadesr etc. but PITA when using for finesse.
I've got an fg on my ulfs rod 6lb braid and leader it's much the same! I have up on Albright after losing a white sephia on a squid at flinders.. Of all things.. I only tied it cause I was on a boat and had to tie an fg afterwards anyway
TRY 4LB.
i will still use it but only when i have time to tie it properly, def not on a small boat that bouncing around. flat water yes.
i find the leader is too limp to be able to tie it the way im used to doing the FG.
albright knot is a dangerous one if not tie properly, the braid just comes undone from the leader and goodbye lure.
Do u tie it with the rod tip bending and leader wrapped around ur hands? Never used 4lb leader I'd imagine it's break tightening the knot hahha
nope.
the way i tie it has the leader in one hand and braid in the other.
yeah 4lb is too fine for doing it in a hurry

I never learned to tie an Albright knot and ended up getting quick enough tying an fg knot that time isn't an issue. The fg knot is simple (if repetitive) too, which is good when you have cold and wet fingers out on the water. I struggle to tie a good fg knot to my 6lb leader though, it seems to weaken the leader just below the knot or something.

Yeah it used to happen quite often. It's really dependant on how neat the wraps lay next to each other and how tightly it's formed before really cinching down tight. plus the leader tag faces the wrong way and is another point of failure. Catches on the guides and can throw loops of braid over a guide. If I have to use it, I check it every few casts

YEP, EXCATLY.
how the wraps are done is the culprit, but due to being so easy to tie on the fly, i usually hurry it and thats when its been undone.
