And yes that time difference is important. Not when the fish are going nuts but when they are quite.

Albright is a very slim knot probably the second slimiest braid to leader knot and goes through micro guides well.

As good as an FG through the guides no.
so are you saying that you think the size of the knot can make a difference to whether the fish bite or not when it is quiet?

I thought he means that the quicker you tie them the more time your bait spends in the water.

FG IMO is over rated. Perfectly suited to the gear used for casting poppers at GTs just not the smaller stuff.

Same applies to every knot. The up side is Albright is quick and easy to tie.

Line is doubled over on the albright. Like it or knot (haha) it's going to be close to double the thickness of an fg knot. Plus it isn't as strong. Good knot to tie in a rush. Crazy knot to tie if you're not.

Yeah if time wasn't an issue fg anyday.
But on the fly. Like when you get a wind knot and have to cut and retie leader. Double uni or albright.

Frozenpod.
Albright especially is bad if you get the wraps bungled. As is not a proper knot as such and more a friction knot. It will unravel if not tied properly. Where as a double uni tied really bad wont unravel itself.

Yes it is doubled over which gives the knot great shock capability, and it doesn't works its way loose like the fg.

Purple it short of does lock but you can add a half hitch to the braid if you really want. I have never seen one come undone.

For what it is worth when I was in NW WA chasing GTs ect on reefs.

I expected they would use FG. To my surprise they were using Albrights. I suggested FG and they said the same reasons above too long and too hard to tie consistently.

FG Work it's way loose yet an Albright doesn't? Are we talking about the same knot? Albrights the tag end will catch the guide on the cast and will eventually weaken the knot. Fg there is literally nothing to catch. You musnt be tying them right if they are working loose

Albright can deteriorate due to damage but it doesn't work its way loose. But it takes houndreds of casts to do so.

FG seems to work its way loose due to stretch in the leader.
