Prawn heads in the trap is the go i troll using minno two ways i use is a long shank hook through the mouth threaded right througj guts and out its bum and just pull the eye inside its body yes it kills them but when trolling it makes no differnce , or a small hook in lips and a stinger hook trailing just behind the minno

I was told using canned cat food is illegal.. Well it is meat.. And if it's allowed people would use tins as berley logs
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Have a look at the regs...guessing your source of info may be confused with saltwater regs.

It's perfectly legal as Jim said, you are not allowed to use meat but pretty sure most cat food is fish based

Does it actually say that in the regs regarding fresh water? Because if it does, there will be a lot of people breaking the law!

No it doesn't in freshwater Jim,if it did, every second crayfisher would have been done a hundred times over, not to mention all the kids using meat & cotton to catch yabby's.Our jails would be full.

You cant use mammal blood or offal in salt water, but think you can still put a t bone on & cast it out.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
