Re: Moon above, below feeding times!
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: Moon above, below feeding times!
Like Dave, I have some trouble understanding this aspect. Rather than describing it the way you do, as in 'moon in front of you' etc, you are not talking about the moon rising or setting in your particular location? The way you describe it...I can't help but think that if you are fishing on a jetty with the moon behind your back, the fishing will be different on the other side of the jetty.Buckle&scream wrote:............Basically if the moon is behind you or under your feet its good to fish, if the moon is in front of you or over your head it's no good this mainly applies to landbased and shallow water fishing................

Re: Moon above, below feeding times!
I was referring to north port Phillip bay every where is different, During full moon period I mainly target gummys, squid and Mulloway. I'm Not talking about fresh water or deep water.
I was referring to the position of the moon when it rises, moon riseing behind me usually occurs 3 days before and after the fullmoon, when I say moon under my feet i mean the new moon period! But this is only for the north of the bay. Landbased and shallow water manly! In saying all this If it's over cast and rough weather I'll still fish.
if You have another view on this please explain to me because every time i go fishing landbased on the fullmoon or the day before or after or on the full moon the waters usally flat dead and heaps of sea lice.
I'll repeat this is for North Ppb.

When you explain it this way, saying it is rising, I understand.Buckle&scream wrote:.................................

Re: Moon above, below feeding times!
Isn't the moon a factor mainly because of the tides? I'd read that it has an effect even when it's overcast.

Re: Moon above, below feeding times!
Guess shallow water more light after dark means that the fish will be more tentative in those conditions.
