that is one I mastered when practicing on my bait caster - how to untangle a nest on a mono. Haven't tried it on braid that is why I posted a topic about what line is better on bait casters.

It does work with braid, its a handy tip.

i use a plastic fork...just like eating spaghetti :dinner: .i have tried this method but my backlashes are preaty severe and not just your average little over run.my take is an over run is caused by not stopping the spool after the lead or lure hits the water.a backlash on the other hand is when the spool is rotating faster than the line comming off the reel and tangles mid cast.usually causing a crack off (loss of terminal tackle).the use of magnetic brake systems all but eliminate this problem :thumbsup:
