Hey All,

Heading up to Mount Beauty for a mountain bike race next weekend and thought I'd check out the pondage/river in the evenings. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck there recently and what you were targeting? I've heard there's both trout and red fin in the pondage there?

We used to own a house in MtB near the Ambulance place, haven’t been there for a few years. BUT, we never had success in the lake, caught one monster brown at the spillway on worms, caught heaps via spin and fly on the river at the back of the airport. Google maps is your friend:-)

If you've got time, drive up to Falls, take the road to Rocky Valley then over the top to Pretty Valley pondage. Take the right road to the dam wall. Sunset here you will never ever not see dozens of rises and get a few.

Little blue gold celta's or small hardbodies do the trick.
