I was up at Eildon pondage a couple of weeks ago and caught a few fish, all around the same size, 33-35cm. All caught on the fly rod, using stick caddis and woolly buggers. I had to wade out to get into the deeper water though, didn't get a touch in close. Are these the ex-brood stock that were mentioned?

No, they might have come from a recent stocking but they aren't ex brood stock. The brood stock fish usually average between 4 & 5lb which is quite a large trout (although they get a lot of this weight through being fat and not length)
