Good on them and the gear they used? Would've thought the rod been a bit stronger or so? (Mind you that's after watching those Tuna Fishing shows on Discovery channel HAHA)

This is what came out of that tunas guts. Always amazes me what these big fish eat. One had a gannet in its guts a few months ago!

Can't wait to get down there and get a few. I haven't been out on the tuna for a while now. I'm planning to try some really light gear this year

Don't do it sins ! light line fishing for SBF is asking for trouble, what if you hook a beast like this one ?

They're only here for a short time through the winter so you want everything in your favor..

If they were here all year round fair enough you can afford to lose a few but they're not..

I know but i've caught heaps before. Time to spice it up a bit! I'll run the usual gear.. if i start catching school fish ill swap over. My brother wants to try get one on his nitro baby viper and sol 2500 lol should be funny. Hopefully ill get some good video for us all to have a laugh at!

I'm heading to Portland this Friday, I don't really have anything heavier than the gummy rods so it'll be fun if I hook a decent size SBT on those.
