Lilydale Lake 10/10/15

I hit Lilydale lake at about 7pm after taking the dog for a walk at Liverpool Rd, Retarding Basin and realising there were too many dogs there to fish.
I got there with minimal gear and was gutted to see my scrub worms had died in the heat while in the car yesterday (2 packs of scrubbies gone!). When I got to the bridge a bloke told me the trout were jumping around the corner so I bolted and was glad to see they were still there. I had some maggots that I put under a and threw a line out a few times, but only once got bites as I was reeling in. Then after about 15 minutes it was dark and the fish had moved on. After that it was too dark to see what I was doing and I spooked a big carp as I changed locations. 1 bite for around 45 minutes fishing. I'm guessing the fish get really active there at dawn and dusk. Thinking about hitting it up tomorrow.

I'm yet to hear of anyone doing well at Lilydale lake recently.

Thanks Davo, it's an addiction. I'll be trying again tonight just before the sun goes down I think. I saw trout jumping last night which got me excited.
