Lilydale Lake 23/09/15
Headed to Lilydale today and fished from 3pm - 7pm. I targeted the creek entrance near the foot bridge with only a couple of small bites on worms and bread, unweighted under a small float. I moved further out past the two beaches and had another small bite and all fished the pier in the reeds past the footbridge. I'm thinking if heading there again tomorrow morning and trying the rockwall section.
Anyone have any tips?
Baits used today: Scrubbies, Freshwater Yabbies, Powerbait, Gulp, Bread and Corn.

Looks like you had a good try at it  cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

It can be a tough lake to fish and persistence is the only advise I can offer.
Along the wall and near the out flow will often get results but then again I have donuted there more times then being successful

I had a friend catch 2 trout there on the weekend he used maggots as bait, they started biting right on dusk.

I've heard power bait is the go and most people I've seen fish from the rocks near where the river flows in. I have been chased by Redfin when using rapalas and tassie Devils but haven't actually caught anything. I've had far more success in emerald lake if that's also convenient for you.

Thanks guys I hit Lilydale Lake today again and had the same problem. This time I fished the rock wall, bridge, wetlands area, the river the drainage basin and still no bites all day, with a variety of baits used I might head out again at Dawn tomorrow.
I fished Emerald Lake about 6 weeks ago and had no bites,
I think the fish have just gone off the bite in the afternoons. I wish they didn't dran TNA, or fence up the quarry in FT Gully as I'd still be fishing there.

If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!
