Have to disagree with you there mate.
I found more of a strike rate on pilchard tails then plastics any day of the week if they are biting

Maybe we need a flathead comp.
We just had one lol wait lets ask crumpet_avenger what he got his on to win the comp.

Haha. If i had a chance to get to bermi work you on that trip. Id have shown you have to catch flathead on lures. You will never use bait again. ..

Caught it on a pillie fillet on my nibbletip whiting rod. Went like a steamtrain. The comp was changed to end at the end of jan im pretty sure..

I reckon lures outfish bait for flatties. They are an ambush predator, so the more ground you cover, the more you catch. And they ain't fussy. Unless you are drifitng with baits I guess.

the true way to fish for flathead is to drift in about a 5 winds but im lazy in westenport due to tidal low and anchor all the time except at bemagui and drift there with bait and normally bag out
