GT fishing.

Post by Bertil » Sat Sep 07, 2013 4:43 pm

I was just wondering(since I have never visited the place before), are there any species of Trevally around Port Philip?(esp..GT)?? If that's a yes, I will carry my Popping gear.
If not where do we catch GT other than New Caledonia.?
Any info will be highly appreciated!

Unfortunately there are no gt down in ppb, we only have the silver trevally. There are kingfish here witch(which) can be caught using poppers, otherwise gt can be caught all around the northern parts of Australia, from rottnest island in WA all the way round to the tropical water of far north Sydney.

The GTs left Victoria long time ago due to unpredictable weather. :doh1: 4 seasons in one day proved too much.

A lot of the local sewerage farms around here close to Port Phillip Bay have plenty of GT's, if your lucky enough to snag one ! ; although GT's of a different kind though ! :puke:
That's about as close to a GT as your going to get in Victoria waters ..lol
