I was there for 5 days, on the day of arrival, all they caught all day was one albacore.
We went out the next day and caught 9, including one albacore.
The next as they rounded the point they had two waves over the boat and turned around and came home.
On the Thursday we caught 6 really quickly, only for it to go quiet.
On the Friday they day we left, I don't think sharky even put the boat in the water.

Following the face book pages of the charter blokes, it tends to be a bit hit or miss, with one charter doing well and the others not so well.

I suppose that's what charter fishing is like, it's just that we all hope to be on the boat that has the success

When I caught my tuna, I did not believe the power they had, and as the fight wore on, I started secretly hoping the bloody thing would escape as my muscles began to tire and gradually turn to jelly and refusing to respond to the orders from my brain.

It was a battle to who would win, the tuna or my jellied muscles that refused to work, I tried to wind that handle one more time and my arm would not move, I tried to lift the rod tip up a little and wind, yet the arm still refused to respond to the commands from my brain.

Fortunately the deckie had enough leader double to grab an was able to gaff the fish, and even he had a few attempts at pulling it on board, but by then I was collapsed of the deck out of total exhaustion.

So anybody who fights and lands a 100kg plus tuna deserves a lot of respect.
