Port MacDonald

Post by Wolly Bugger » Sun Jun 25, 2017 8:46 pm

The plan so far is to hit Port MacDonald on Wednesday. Hopefully the tuna are a little more co-operative over there than at Portland at present. Saturday was a dismal day, with the charters coming in empty handed and only one or two fresh caracas in the bins. Of course Sunday was for any one with thrill seeking suicidal tendencies with swells in the range of 5-6 metres.

Went to Bridge water bay and the waves were starting to break between 1k to 500 metres from shore, with the wash going up to the high water mark. Went to a spot to try for some pippies, but the wash made staying dry above the waist impossible. So gave that idea away and went to the car to dry out.

Did you drive to Portland this weekend with the intention to go offshore, then bailed out?

All the charter guys drew a blank today and the bins have not a single tuna carcass in them.
