Eden Report
Ducked up to Eden for a weekend's fishing with a few mates, and started on the Saturday in an atrocious 20knt northerly and 2m seas. Luckily we are keen and bashed out anyway.
Spent the morning looking at bait on the sounder until finally around midday we started marking marlin, and before long had one up on the teaser, tossed in the livie and he swallowed it and took off.
Mate Chris was on the rod, his first marlin, and on 15kg struggling to stand up in the rough  .
Knocked him over in 45 mins and got a tag in, job done for the day!
Sunday was the polar opposite, the wind wouldn't have blown out a candle all day. We didn't see much until midday, when we got one up in the spread, switched him on a livie and he was on. As we were clearing the teasers, another marlin chased one of them to the back of the boat, so I quickly grabbed the skip bait and brought it past him and bang! Double hookup!
That only lasted about 10 seconds with the first fish spitting the circle hook, followed by the second fish doing the same.....bugger.
Had another fish up later in the day following a livie in, but he just swam round the livie and wouldn't eat.
Went 5-3-1 for the weekend, frustrating but at least we got on the board.
I'm having a shocking season in terms of staying connected, only tagged 2 fish this season from 11 bites :snap:

Re: Eden Report
Bad luck Scott but at least you were out there nice pic of the marlin. Nothing better than getting a mate onto a marlin especially his first.

Re: Eden Report
well done scottaaayy. would have been nice for the double hook to stay..
i think it might be the red/orange blob on the 20m mark in the first sounder pic and same thing but between 20 and 40m mark in the second sounder pic.
hahaha funny that, i was going to ask the same thingrb85 wrote:Great report on your sounder is that little red blob 20-40m in the water column middle of screen a marlin?

Re: Eden Report
yeah mate that it, on both sounder shots the little red blob is a marlin, raised both of those 2 fish right after marking em.rb85 wrote:Great report on your sounder is that little red blob 20-40m in the water column middle of screen a marlin?
They show up as a nice arch when trolling livies, but at 7 knots or so they are just blobs, still easy to distinguish though
