bermagui final report

Post by Nude up » Sat Mar 04, 2017 7:07 pm

Thursday was our last day on the water and what a day low wind bright and sunny after early rain. We headed out to the top of the 12 mile reef to find loads of bait with marlin working them we quickly load up with slimies and put 2 baits out, we troll around the bait nothing we devide to drift and send a bait really deep. As I was winding the down rigger up some thing broke the pin in the rod holder sheared off so the rod kept swiveling around can't use that one now.
We drift bait deep nothing. We see birds working in the distance up baits steam over there bait boiling on the surface livies deployed and we get sealed. By know its 1pm and we have tried everything but no takers. We have 3.5 hours of our trip left we decide to pull lures cover lots of water. We get the lures out and head for the bottom of the 12 mile after 30 mins we get a hit on the short rigger but it doesn't stick 1 hour later a mako comes up in the spread and nails the witchdoctor

check your harness this is an aftco back harness that the left reel strap snapped when gav was fighting a big black marlin luckily he grabbed the rod and we got my black magic harness on him.

Nude up needs a 1kw transducer for his boat check out these sounder images 1 of them was a marlin coming up and nailed one of our baits
