Portland the 20th

Well previous plans to be in portland fell through, so I decided to cough up some dough for a charter at short notice and managed to get onto Reel Time.

So Thursday, was pack the car, get the car serviced, then head to Portland. Around MortLake the trip got a little interesting. First off there was an animal off the side of the road I didn't recognise, it had a strange colour and composition. I was not until it lifted it's head did I see a set of antlers. As he hightailed off in the opposite direction.

Then next up I saw something large land on the road, I slowed down to the legal speed limit (just kidding) and this Lancaster Bomber takes off, it must of been feeding on road kill. Thinking to myself you beauty I caught this on dash cam. Sadly the dash cam wide angle lense makes a Wedge tail eagle look like a sparrow.

Who are you looking at?

After a successful day out on the water, it was time to head back to Melbourne, and around Mortlake, I missed by a whisker, adding Venison to the menu.

I heard they are bagging out most days up there. My mate invited me to go up next Tuesday but I can't make it.

Wedge tail eagles are big my parents visited from the uk in the 90's and couldnt believe how big they were when they saw one at the side of the road. So no fish at all

We got fish, off Bridge water, but thought I'd change the story a little bit. Didn't quite bag out, but got close.

Were you pulling skirts or hard bodies. No size to the fish seem to be school fish around portland

Both, the hard bodies were the only lure taken in the morning, then later it was a combination. Perhaps the largest 10-15kg.
