Bermagui success!

Post by scott__henning » Tue Jan 26, 2016 3:58 pm

Fished the Bermagui Bluewater Classic over the weekend with a few mates, and was pretty stoked to tag my first Marlin!

We managed 5.2.1 for the weekend, with some doughy fish not interested in biting, however the excitement of that first tag made up for it all, in the dying minutes of the last day of the comp.

Got him up on the teaser and pitched a livie to him, which he promptly swallowed at the back of the boat.

Fight time was over an hour, on 15kg gear, needless to say my arms are a tad stretched, awesome fun!

He went a absolutely ballistic in the first 10 minutes, some epic go pro footage to come soon. Here's a snippet

How many participants were there this year?
Did you hook up near the island?
Looking forward for the video mate.

Nice fish scott. 5 raised what type of teaser were you pulling just 6 inch squid, bird or witchdoctor, I have heard there are a few being caught at the moment I have my annual trip to bermie coming up march 5th.
I love when the marlin jump its a great sight and when they are at the boat all lit up awesome well done.
