Ripper day today 4knots breeze we headed out to the twelve mile we have decided to give switchbaiting a crack I have fitted some old tld's to the rocket launcher filled with dacron they go half way out on the riggers through the release clips then about 20 to 30 mt behind the boat on either side we tow teasers. The teasers are made with 5 squid about 450mm apart with a lure on the end with no hook in it they raise the marlin when it comes up and attacks the teaser we wind it in slowly at the same time we feed a livebait back to it it switches from the teaser to the live bait.we also had a skip bait running in the middle off the shotgun rigger.
2 hours of towing the teasers and circling bait balls I see a marlin jump off to our left tuna tube was driving he headed over to the area the marlin starts attacking the r/h teaser we start winding it in and feed the livebait back the marlin switches to the other teaser we move the livebait it just ignores it then it decides to have another crack at the r/h one again but still ignores the livie it loses interest and disappears we see it again near the skip bait picked it up then lept out of the water shaking its head but no bait in it and finally disappears for good.
Happy to have raised a fish we continue till 4pm by now its blowing 17knots and we decided to head back to bermie once home I check the gps trip 124 klm for the day, blowing 20 to 25 knots southerly tomorrow so no fishing but sat is looking good.

You would have been rapt seeing that fish come up. I'm sure the blood would have been pumping hard. Shame it didn't want to play. Are there any tuna about to mix things up a bit in between marlin? You've been clocking up a few kms there. The servos must love this time of year.

Re: 1, 0, 0,
It was hectic on the boat when the marlin appeared its a very visual form of fishing seeing the marlin attacking and swiping at the teasers is great I had the go pro running when we get home we will try and edit it we need to zoom in when it is on the teaser and we got the headshakes and jump low down in the lh corner. So far in 3 days we have covered 240klm and lucky its a 4 way split on the fuel. This time of the year no sbt tuna here poss yellowfin some dolphinfish were caught today but all on lures smaller than we would pull we only chase marlin on this trip
