Calm water for floundering

Post by Flounder » Thu Mar 08, 2012 9:04 pm

Hi Guys,
Could any one pleased irect me to a web site that shows how calm the water is around the bay.
I go to Mordialloc and get around 7 to 10 flounders in 2 hours when the water is flat but lately it has always been rough. I there any way to work out when the water will be calm, or do you gamble like I do :wall: ?

Cheers

I think the water is calm around Mordialloc when the wind direction is from the North.

Check http://www.seabreeze.com.au/graphs/vic.asp for forecasted wind

and

Problem is that what can be shown as calm, dead flat water on any web site, can also have just enough 'ripple' on it to make it uselss for floundering. There's really only one way to know for sure. Get down there & check it out. If it's no good - go home. No short cuts unfortunatley. New age electronics cant cure everything.
