Looking at the forecast, I don't think there will much left of the end of Frankston pier by the weekend. Will go down tomorrow morning do a little lure casting and see if the pier is still standing.

Mornington pier would have been absolutely awesome fishing platform in this weather, if it had only been completed.

Looking at today's wind speed readings for Frankston Pier, the speed is around 20-18 knots, from the NW.

All good indicators for hot fishing off the pier, except for one problem, the fish ain't there, yet.

So do I go down or stay inside where it is warm. Catching up on some of the shows recorded on the PVR and deleting some as the memory is now full, with no more room for any more shows to be recorded.

Went down yesterday for 5 hours with Svensson, had one decent bite but that was all, the rest were starfish! Even tried casting lures and no action.

There is a report of the swell being as big as a 4 story house heading towards the vic coast. Although I think that might be a slight exaggeration in the newspaper.

The swell report for Venus bay is between 3.9 to 5.5 metres and Gunna up to 4.1. Would be impressive seeing the 5.5.

With swell that size even the Queen Mary would have trouble holding anchor with the side current.

After big seas, I now know it is a waste of time trying to fish for example Williamson's because the big seas, rip seaweed up making it impossible to fish the ocean beaches.

Went down to the pier, ideal conditions and didn't even take a rod with me. Asked the fisho's if they had caught anything and the answer was 'not a bite'.
