Hi everyone,
My family is planning to go visit Phillip island during the long weekend (probably on Saturday) and i can have a evening session to fish there, just wondering do you guys have any suggestion on the location and what fish to target? I am thinking either Cowes or San Remo Pier.

Hi Benny,
had a fish next to Cowes Pier the last week. Plenty of large squid around...
Also, as you look out to the bay, fishing from the left off the beach if you can cast about 80 metres, you will be in 7-10 metres of water......
always a chance for a Gummy around there with a fresh strip of squid.
Good luck and let us kmnow how you go?

Thx Jon for your advise unfortunately I dont have a surf rod and dont think i can cast that far haha. Will be fishing with my cousin from oversea we only have some 2-4kg rod, do you think we should fishing at the end of the pier or in the middle? I am hopping the pier is not too crowded, i went to cowes pier couple of years ago and its like there are 100 people fishing, cant even found a spot to start with, end up went to the jetty at newhaven and catching a lot of sea weed haha...

Back from phillip island and the pier is not packed nice weather on Saturday, hook up some small fish and some small water snake (i think) and nothing else, the guy next to us hook up a big string ray. There is a seal keep swimming around the pier.
