Port Welshpool (yesterday)

Post by jasew3 » Tue Jan 09, 2018 8:45 am

Gday All
Just a quick report from yesterday,
Took the long drive down to Port Welshpool yesterday and arrived abt 9am.
The carpark was already pretty full which actually made it abit easier to launch as not many ppl around.
We drove to the middle of whale bay (just past snake island),and put the rods out hoping for a gummy, but we struck out as all we got there was a big run of a decent fish in the first ten mins then caught abt 40 odd flatties which we only kept over 33 to 44cm. (abt 10 fish) Was a good day out as we caught a variety of rays and sharks which all went back including a small hammerhead. The first hour or 2 was ok with the wind but after that got a little choppy plus the bloody reeds/weeds were playing havoc with the rods. But saying that myself and my son really appreciated my dad taking us out on his boat which was pretty good..
cheers Jase. :a_goodjob:
