DRONE bait drop surf fishing anyone?

Post by gonefishing » Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:11 am

Hi

Anyone here tried out using Drones to drop your lines 300M into the surf ?
I am contemplating and since for the sole purpose of dropping baits and the high risk flying over the ocean with unpredictable winds i am not willing to spend over a thousand dollars for a drone.
I am reviewing these two...

MJX Bugs 3 $100-$200
DJI Phantom 3 Over $1,000

The Bugs is economical but can it carry a whole pilchard + Sinker + line ?

Any recommendations appreciated!

FC uses a splash drone fisherman, it’s capable of taking off from the water if you like therefore no issue with getting wet. Have a look on google but it’s a bit more then your budget of $1000

I have the splashdrone 3 auto + fisherman version with interchangeable 4k camera and SAR playload release mechanism. It follows me, returns home and can land and take off from water. Max wind rating 28kph but can easily take more than that. It lifts 1 kg easily.

I can fly it using mobile phone....

Awesome Bit of Kit FC.
Might have to save up for something like that for the 90 mile.

How many bait drops are you getting on a single charge?
avg 300m drops
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Flying time of 15 min before the battery alam starts beeping.

I can do at least 5 drops per battery on a calm day. I know it can do one more but i dont want to swim. If the battery drops too low it will land itself wherever it is. I have 4 batteries and i carry an inverter and charger just in case i need to charge in the car.
