Mystery

Post by Wolly Bugger » Fri Apr 08, 2011 6:43 am

Down at the local, early in the morning, I had observed a number of mystery swirls, not exactly a splash occuring on a number of occasions.

Asking around it could be one of three things, jewie, kingy or maybe a gummy.(pengiuns do not make as big a splash, and seals usually are seen, i have seen seals chasing fish without disturbing the surface.)

I have been trying to target this mystery maker of the swirls. Catching fresh squid and putting it out under a float.

So far no luck and as luck would have it, this morning only managed one squid, hooked it through the hood to keep it alive, cast out wrong side of the pier, and the float wound up under the pier  , retrieved and cast out the other side, then line twist knotted the line, bye bye squid.

No more squid were co-operative and there were not as many about as there had been previously. :snap:

Work committments over the next few days will prevent fishing for the mystery maker of the swirls.
