Cliffy instead, will just have to pu

t up with the schools of kingies there instead
how come you cant go with one boat??

Cheers bm
Because it's a ridiculously long way to go and Scott was doing the right thing and making sure there was another boat just in case something did happen to go wrong. Safety matters much more than fish.
yes agree that two boats is alot safer but nothing wrong with going by yourself.

I took my boat up the kimberly coast last october and apart from the normal problems had no real issues.

it makes you feel alive.

Hopefully you get down to hogans soon to suss it out for us.!! Agree allways good with two boats for a trip like that.

cheers bm
Problem is that sometimes it makes you feel alive and then something that isn't in your control happens and you know... makes you feel dead.

Anyways, have to hit it up Scott. Was nearly going to offer to come out to Hogans with you after your other boat pulled out. There was a few boats that stayed in Refuge cove overnight according to a mate so I'm sure there were a few others wide too. ;-)
yep allways safer with two boats no doubt like I said

but once you do a few trips by yourself you soon learn its very manageable

I know its not for the faint hearted and not for the average joe blow but being out in the ocean by yourself with nobody around makes you feel alive.

sure beats sitting at home watching tv.

I am happy to head long distances offshore when there are other boats around, coast guard ect ie support a radio call away but down here most of the time there isn't.

I personally wouldn't be heading to hogan without another boat and yes I have been 80km plus off shore dozens of times.

Of course and I agree with you, I have been running my own boat for quite a while now and have been out in some disgusting weather. I reckon safety is so good that it's not about being knocked out or trapped etc. More just about the time taken to get there; I mean 80km in absolutely crap weather is going to take a lot longer. Anyways I think we have beaten the point to death. Caution A1+ haha.

BM, mechanical break down is a bigger issue at hogan.

At hogan only form of communication you will have is EPRIB or sat phone.

on the subject of the sat phone its probably the best thing ive ever owned for safty

I take it just about everywhere I go when im away on long trips.

When im in far away places with no other comunication its in a floating water proof box with my epirp.

Cheers bm
