Re: pike / snook
Salmon slugs. Halco twisters specifically but busted 45's have been doing the damage since i've started using them. Bang on first or last light retrieved fast from a ledge does the trick. Pretty much any rocky outcrop where you might spin for salmon or kings seems to have a resident snook population.

The bigger ones off ocean ledges inhale 6inch white or white and pink curltail gulps as well. Yeah i keep hearing about how pike do that but i've never expereinced it, whenever they've been around it's always smashing things.

Re: pike / snook
A few years ago I trolled a couple of 3" silver hardbody lures past the punchbowl near san remo every pass we had a hook up of snook/pike great fun we didn't target them just found a school.
I have caught them off portarlington in corio bay normally if I come across a school of salmon there is always pike/snook loitering around.

Re: pike / snook
i think it could either be the difference between pike that are feeding/hunting in schools and the one or two that are generally seen at piers, in larger schools they have to be more aggressive as otherwise something else gets it but when by themselves they can be as cautious as they like without it really effecting themDougieK wrote:The bigger ones off ocean ledges inhale 6inch white or white and pink curltail gulps as well.
