Why do you need such deep water for that? It sounds similar to jigging for squid only with a metal lure, and that can be done in a couple of meters.
You'd probably get quite a few flathead and maybe some pinkies doing that off the new Werribee breakwall but if you want the really deep water you might need to go a bit further afield and try a rock ledge like Red Point (watch for snags and use heavy line) or some of the ones around Wilson's Prom. Let us know how you go, it sounds like something that hasn't really been done much in Australia.

I started play micro jig this winter.I only got one little simon. But I 100% I can use them get snapper when sanpper season and get flathead in summer. :victory:
