Why do you need such deep water for that? It sounds similar to jigging for squid only with a metal lure, and that can be done in a couple of meters.
You'd probably get quite a few flathead and maybe some pinkies doing that off the new Werribee breakwall but if you want the really deep water you might need to go a bit further afield and try a rock ledge like Red Point (watch for snags and use heavy line) or some of the ones around Wilson's Prom. I started play micro jig this winter.I only got one little simon. But I 100% I can use them get snapper when sanpper season and get flathead in summer. :victory:
